Oprah Chimp Victim – Charla Nash shows devastating effect of being a chimp victim.

Charla Nash from Connecticut went down to Sandra’s (Charla’s friend/employer) house in Feb. 16, 2009 to help her in the situation wherein 14-year-old pet chimpanzee had escaped.

Just as Charla arrived, the 200-pound chimpanzee attacked her face in a very horrific way. Sandra called 911 and the police immediately responded to the call. The chimpanzee was shot and dead.

Charla Nash went on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” to talk about her story and she also revealed her disfigured face in front of camera.

“I don’t even think about it,” Nash said on Wednesday’s episode of Winfrey’s show. “And there’s no time for that anyways because I need to heal, you know, not look backwards.”

Nash told Oprah that she is blind, eats through a straw, and has only partial use of her mauled hands. She hopes to get a face and hand by transplant in the future.

Meanwhile, Nash is now suing Herold for what happened to her.

The Nash family is suing Sandra Herold for $50 million. Though Herold had no comment regarding Oprah’s interview, her lawyer issued a statement. “All of Sandy’s hopes and prayers are with Charla and her daughter in this challenging time. Sandy has always tried to help Charla and wished her the best. When Charla lost her job, it was Sandy who provided her with employment and a place to live. Sandy hopes and prays for a full and speedy recovery.”

The chimp slashed off Nash’s hands, nose, lips and eyelids which made Sandra very difficult to do things on her own. See the video below:
